begin to understand and use Git/Github. You will not be an expert by the end of the class. You will probably not even feel very comfortable using Git. This is okay. We want to make a start but, like any skill, using Git takes practice.
There are three main ways to contribute to Library Carpentry:
|00:00||What is git?||
What is Git?
What is Github?
|00:10||Getting started||what do add and commit mean?|
|00:30||Sharing your work||what does push and pull mean?|
|01:00||Review||can you express git commands in a non ‘git’ way?|
|01:25||Github pages||what is GitHub Pages?|
|02:00||Git in libraries||What could Git be useful for?|
The actual schedule may vary slightly depending on the topics and exercises chosen by the instructor.
